In this past off-Season, Freddie Freeman signed a six-year, $162 million contract with the Dodgers. One would think that after signing such a huge contract with a contending tea, he would be happy about his new future. However, this can’t be said about Freddie Freeman, in his first time playing against his former team the Atlanta Braves where he spent 15 years playing Freddie could be seen visibly upset at some points even crying. So why was he so emotional in his first appearance back in Atlanta? After visiting the Braves front office to say hi, Freddie began conversing with his former employers. As they continued to talk they spoke to Freddie about his $46 million per year contract with the Dodgers and asked something along the lines of “why didn’t you take the $47 million per year deal that we offered”? After hearing this it became clear to Freddie that there was some broken telephone along the line. After some investigation, he found that his agent, Casey Close had decided to ignore and keep the Braves' offer a secret from Freddie. Freddie was happy to take a pay cut to stay with the team so along with fact that he was gonna get even more money with the Braves he was even more upset because he would be able to stay with his long-time franchise. In Freeman’s eyes, he made the right decision by firing Close. The only question that can be asked now is “What if?”
