One Mile High, Miles Better Than the Rest

We've seen all time matchups like Gretzky vs. Lemieux and Crosby vs. Ovechkin, but now it's Mackinnon Vs. McDavid.

Avalanche, fresh off a testy series with the Blues look poised to end that 21-year Stanley Cup drought. And quite frankly, they have all of the resources to do so. Loaded with one of the most talented rosters in recent history, not much can get in their way. Mackinnon will be Mackinnon, but the Avs will have to look for Mikko Rantanen and Nazem Kadri to step up their game. Goalie Darcy Keumper, who has looked really beatable this postseason, will need to be better. On the other hand, Connor Mcdavid and Leon Draisaitl have propelled the Oilers to a spot not many expected them to get to. We know those two will get it done, but the question for this team has always been who is going to help. Evander Kane has done a nice job with his 12 goals but to beat Colorado, they will need more. Look for Ryan Nugent Hopkins and Zach Hyman to step up and give Mcdavid and Draisaitl the help they need. Goaltending plays an issue for the Oilers as well, as Mike Smith has been subpar and unpredictable all postseason. With the talent on the ice, this series really could come down to the better tender manning the crease. Two long droughts on the line but in the end, Colorado’s depth proves to be too much for the Oilers and they take this one in 6 games heading to meet Lord Stanley for the first time since 2001.
